Butternut squash gratin with chestnuts and cheese

Introduction

Fall is the perfect season to enjoy comfort food. This butternut squash gratin with chestnuts and cheese will delight your taste buds and warm up your evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 butternut squash
  • 200g cooked chestnuts
  • 150g grated cheese (Gruyere type)
  • 200ml of fresh cream
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A few sprigs of thyme

Instructions

  1. Preparing vegetables
    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Peel the butternut squash, remove the seeds and cut it into cubes. Thinly slice the onion and chop the garlic.

  2. Cooking
    In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until translucent. Add the squash cubes and sauté for 5 minutes.

  3. Adding chestnuts
    Add the cooked chestnuts, salt, pepper and thyme. Mix well.

  4. Assembly
    In a baking dish, place the squash and chestnut mixture. Pour the crème fraîche evenly on top and sprinkle with grated cheese.

  5. Baking
    Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden and crispy.

Service

Serve hot, accompanied by a green salad for a complete and balanced meal.
