Autumn Potato and Leek Gratin

Introduction

Fall is the perfect season to enjoy comfort food. This potato and leek gratin, topped with melted cheese, is a real treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 3 leeks
  • 200 ml of crème fraîche
  • 150 g grated cheese (Gruyere type)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 50 g butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preparing vegetables
    Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Wash the leeks, cut them into slices and chop the garlic.

  2. Cooking leeks
    In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the leeks and garlic and sauté until tender (about 5-7 minutes).

  3. Assembling the gratin
    In a baking dish, place a layer of potatoes, salt and pepper. Cover with a layer of leeks, then a layer of crème fraîche. Repeat until all the ingredients are used up.

  4. Adding cheese
    Finish with a layer of grated cheese on top of the gratin.

  5. Cooking
    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the gratin for 45 minutes, until it is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

Service

Serve this gratin piping hot, accompanied by a green salad for a balanced and tasty meal.
